In India-Britain, there was a problem with venomous cobras in the city of Delhi, so British official offered a reward for anybody that brought in a dead snake. This rule garnered a lot of attention and cobra numbers were drastically reduced. Then some smart entrepreneur deduced that the price of breeding a cobra cost less than the reward the government was giving. This caused cobra breeders to shift into overdrive and breed cobras like crazy.
Government officials eventually caught on and banned the cobra-killing incentive but then the breeders, realizing that the cobras were worthless to them, released all of their cobras into the wild and thus shooting up the cobra population. That is a prime example of being careful about what you ask for. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Mr. Nations out!
