Summer States No. 1 - Delaware

     Hello everybody and welcome back to another installment of Nations Made Fun! I'll be your host, Mr. Nations, your tour guide to the world! Today we're going to be starting Summer States, a little series where I review every state in the United States by order in which they were admitted. This is going to be arranged in a bullet list fashion, meaning no long paragraphs. Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get straight into it!

     Delaware Facts:
  • Date of Statehood: December 7, 1787
  • Capital: Dover
  • Population: 897,934 (2010)
  • Size: 2,489 square miles
  • Motto: Liberty and Independence
  • Tree: American Holly
  • Flower: Peach Blossom
  • Bird: Blue Hen
     Fun Facts:
  • The first U.S. colony was established in Delaware.
  • The Holy Trinity Church was constructed in Delaware. It is the oldest house of worship still in use in the United States.
  • Delaware is the only state without national parks of any kind.
