Summer States No. 48 - Arizona

     Hello everybody and welcome back to another edition of Nations Made Fun! I'll be your host, Mr. Nations, your tour guide to this magnificent world! Today we're going to be taking a look at Arizona, the fort-eighth of the United States. As of today, we will be two posts away from the end of Summer States! Well, what are we waiting for?   • Capital: Phoenix
  • Population: 6,392,017 (2010)
  • Size: 113,990 square miles
  • Motto: Ditat Deus (“God enriches”)
  • Tree: Palo Verde
  • Flower: Saguaro Cactus Blossom
  • Bird: Cactus Wren
     Fun Facts:
  • Formed over 3 to 6 million years ago, the Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep. It attracts 5 million people a year.
  • Arizona has the highest percentage of its land dedicated to Indian tribal land.
  • Arizona is one of two states that doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time.
