The Batlle of Bunker Hill was one of the most influential battles in the course of the Revolutionary War. Although the colonists lost the battle, they took down a great portion of the enemy's forces it gave them the boost of confidence needed to win the rest of the war. Although the battle is referred to as The Battle of Bunker Hill, it was mostly fought on nearby Breed's Hill.
Even though the British technically won the Battle of Bunker Hill, it was a significant morale booster and helped the inexperienced Americans overpower the British forces and effectively win the rest of the war.
Fun Facts:
- The name "The Battle of Bunker Hill" is a misnomer.
- That famous order, "Don't fire until you can see the whites of their eyes!" might not have been said.
- When the colonists ran out of ammunition, they started lobbing rocks at the British.
