Summer States No. 29 - Iowa

     Hello everybody and welcome back to another edition of Nations Made Fun! I'll be your host, Mr. Nations, your tour guide to the wacky world of international history!   • Capital: Des Moines
  • Population: 3,046,355 (2010)
  • Size: 56,273 square miles
  • Motto: Our liberties we prize, and our rights we will maintain

  • Bird: Eastern Goldfinch
     Fun Facts:
  • Iowa is the leading producer in corn for the United States. Farmers harvested 2.3 billion bushels of corn in 2011.
  • Iowa is home to the world's largest strawberry.
  • Iowa is also home to the oldest water tower still in service.
